  • Eco-Life: Regenerative paths, a E+ funded course
Summary On a beautiful little piece of land in Greece a two-week course focused on Permaculture Design and Agroforesty Systems took place. An intense experience with an overwhelming program that left everyone inspired and full of hope! These Erasmus+ projects are a wonderful gift that we european citizens have at the reach of our hands. One of the most interesting aspects of this course was being able to meet so many people from a wide array of countries, a true melting pot of cultures, yet sharing a common interest: Permaculture and Agroforesty. The other key component for the success of […]
Numa […]

  • Reforesting Portugal: Taking Communites From Extraction to Regeneration
The 2017 wildfires in Portugal burned some 442 thousand hectares of land and claimed 114 lives according to ICNF statistics. From the ashes of this devastation rose Reflorestar Portugal, a national network for forest and ecosystem regeneration. “It’s an initiative and citizenship driven by the collective dream of seeing Portuguese forests reborn with human presence and collaboration”, says Susana Guimarães, general coordinator of Reflorestar Portugal. The idea is to empower individuals and local communities to act, and to make people aware of their deep relationship with ecosystem regeneration and food production systems. Reflorestar Portugal focuses on values of resilience, autonomy and creativity. To build […]
  • Reflorestablitz #1 – Aid and Regeneration of Burnt Areas of Monchique
Summary Reflorestablitz is a gathering of eco-conscious souls to regenerate lands, an idea that was born in the “2º Encontro das florestas” organized by Reflorestar Portugal. From the 16th until the 21st of November 12 brave volunteers joined together to face the harsh conditions of winter in Monchique and planted trees, built check dams and cut eucalyptus. This was a follow up event of the Ecosystem Regeneration Camp (11 – 15 of November), a 5 day course on practical techniques to regenerate the land. It was a perfect combo: the first week we learned the theory, the second week we […]
